  • Classified National Heritage on 17/11/1903 (OJ No. 7 1 28, 1968) west façade whose path down the Boulevard Biziou when he joined the District of the lower Camp. East side views the on-site Philippe, square of the mosque that we perceive in the light of the door. It is part of the old fortifications of the city. Built between 1067 and 1071, Bab El Bounoud, now called Bab El Fouka, is flanked by two turrets still visible whence the sentinels could monitor the surroundings and probably surmounted by a royal court from the sultan could admire the arrival of caravans and welcome guests of choice. This door has two openings, one of whose most authentic is the one that is located on the left when coming from outside the city, while the right would have been strongly reworked by the French.
