  • We had a 4-weeks self organized tour in China, including a short stay in Tibet. We decided to book a 5 day private tour with Great Tibet Travel, and it was a very good choice! All was perfect: the guide, the driver, the hotel arrangement, and especially the tour organization itself. We visited the most interesting monasteries and buildings near Lhasa and, on the last day, the Ganden and Drak Yerpa monasteries. This last was our preferred visit. We would especially thank our guide Lobsang: he is well prepared and gave us a lot of information not only about the visited places, but also about culture and religion of Tibet. I strongly suggest Great Tibet Tour and especially this 5 days tour, which is suitable for families; our children, 11 and 13 years old, appreciated this tour a lot!
  • I am not used to travelling with a tour, however, since foreigners need to book a tour in order to be able to visit Tibet I decided to book via GreatTibetTour. The tours were very well organized and the hotels we were staying in were clean and super cozy (besides the Mt.Everest Base Camp, that one was quite adventurous^^). The only person that will be able to speak English though will be the tour guide. Our tour guide for the 8 day trip was Tashi, he gave us a really good insight into Tibetan history and culture. WARNING: Be prepared to get altitude sickness though when you are up on 5100 meters, and since places in Tibet are scattered in the whole province be also prepared to spend a lot of time in the car. However, the landscape in Tibet is breathtaking so in my opinion it was totally worth it!
