Paseo del Prado, Havana

4.5
#10 of 200 in Things to do in Havana
Stroll down Paseo del Prado, one of Havana's main avenues. Constructed in the 1770s, the boulevard was designed by French landscape architect Jean-Claude Nicolas Forestier. Take a walk along the tree-lined avenue to see notable city buildings, including the vibrant Hotel Sevilla. European-style mansions fringe the boulevard, reminiscent of Barcelona's La Rambla. Relax on one of the marble benches to cool off and rest, take in the lively atmosphere, and people watch. Put Paseo del Prado into our Havana trip planning website and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • I was told to be careful on the Prado because of crime, but I didn't see a single sign of that. I saw kids walking with their parents kicking soccer balls as they walked. There were people strolling at dusk. You could watch all of the old cars go by and hear the music coming from the open windows of the houses along the street. I loved it and could have sat there for hours.
  • Good place , promenade with its old town spirit .
  • A pleasant walk, with many trees where you can enjoy the shade and the fresh produce when it is very hot and the Sun is strong. A place where children play and people to sell things, also saw some santeras. It walked all and reach the waterfront. The Lions are very beautiful sculptures.
