  • Ok, Saqqara is almost like a large national park back in the US. You need tickets for almost everything. you can buy a single entry ticket for some attractions, but if you want to see more you may.....  more »
  • The Saqqarah site is huge, you need a car to visit it. The pyramid of Djoser was closed but go around it to its north side to see the statue of Djoser inside the granite shrine. The pyramid of Unas.....  more »
  • Just incredible.. Smaller than the great pyramid, but no less impressive... Definitely worth a trip outside of Cairo!
  • Having tea with the caretaker at the Step Pyramid of Djoser in 1982 looking towards the great pyramids in the background . There was nothing there at the time and I took a horse across the sand to get to it as there was no road. Definitely a step back in time.
