  • From the Park exit of JR Ueno Park came to National Science Museum is located. So we went to the exhibition of unkei Heisei-kan at the end. I enjoy because there are many temporary exhibitions.

  • We went around 1 pm for 11/3. There's another good column, but that waiting for 20 minutes. Was kinda hot because it was sunny, but had the parasol service. The 21-minute wait.

  • I visited only the central building, devoted to the art of Japan. It covers all crafts and had special exhibitions on the swords of samurai. The exhibits are well thoughts, with beautiful piece of arts and informative panels. The layout is logical and progress through the different eras of Japanese art. This would be 2 hours well spent and a must do for visitors.
  • Wonderful way to spend a few hours during a visit to Tokyo. Though we only visited the Japanese museum within the multi-building museum complex due to time constraints, we loved the experience and would recommend the visit. Worth every Yen of the very reasonable price of admission.
  • It's so awesome. Lots of really cool exhibits. It's a very big building so plan to spend a few hours there A LEAST.
  • Great museum, loads to see so pays to research a bit before hand. Nice setting & lovely buildings. Pick up a 'Tokyo guide' map for ¥100 off the entry price.
  • Pretty good and huge museum. Located within the vicinity of ueno park. Open until night time on Saturday (be sure to check their website and opening schedule before visiting). They provide wheelchair near the entrance and the whole place has good accessibility. When you are done with the museum, you can walk across the main road and take a stroll in ueno park.

Where to stay in Tokyo

Tokyo abounds with excellent places to stay, from luxury affairs to humble budget-friendly lodgings. Its glittering skyscrapers house numerous international four- and five-star hotels, both in the populous cultural hotspots of Shinjuku and in the business centers of Akasaka and Shinbashi. Meanwhile, hostels catering to the shoestring traveler lie scattered throughout the city. For a memorable, distinctly Japanese experience, seek out a ryokan, a traditional bed and breakfast with tatami floor mats and sliding screen doors.
