  • After a business trip, stayed small 1 time, afford airplane. Exhibition "include ninna-ji Temple omuro sect of" has been held, enjoyed the exhibition of the treasures. And some buildings in the premises, and seemed to enjoy the permanent exhibition. And look carefully so we spent most of the time exhibitions, others were about quick view in the main building, but that seems interesting. It can be enjoyed just watching the building. There were here and there seem to be women's sword and the sword is also displayed in the permanent exhibition. Age group is high compared to other museums, I felt (because of the exhibition?) age was down with a jerk only swords around. So enjoy the exhibition of longer time take time to want to visit.

  • A must visit place is you're even slightly interested in Japanese history. A good range of exhibits well laid out over two floors so easy to get around in a couple of hours. Each item has a simple English description alongside the Japanese. A bit old fashioned in that respect and could do with some more background and meaning to bring the exhibits alive. There is a nice garden (try the cherry blossom ice cream) and other buildings in the museum.
  • The exhibits cover a range of Japanese history from prehistoric to modern times. Of special note is the large range of weaponry (katanas etc) and the face masks. The lacquer works and Buddhist statues are also impressive. If these are not your thing, the grounds are great to wander around and quite picturesque. Admission is fairly cheap at 620 yen. Easy to spend half a day here.
  • For six dollars a person you cannot go wrong with spending a few hours wondering the exhibit halls of this museum. There are free lockers, well with a 100 yen returnable deposit, for your bags at the entrance so that you can walk around unhindered by your belongings. Take the time to soak in some of the Japanese culture and make ample use of the chairs throughout to reset your feet. Great place to take a few hours of down time and rest from walking around the other parks and roads in Tokyo.
  • If you're at all interested in the history or culture of Japan, this place is a must visit. Covering the most early known eras/artifacts up to relatively modern art, the structure and pacing of the museum is just right. The gift shop also has a nice selection, and there's a zoo and neat park just outside the doors!
  • A beautiful museum with a rich history. I suggest arriving well before 5 - I got there at 3 and the last two hours were not nearly enough. The gift shop is also quite well stocked - if you're running out of time, as I was, you can buy the catalogs for some of their special exhibitions for about $25 USD each, and peruse the works at your leisure at home.
