Inspect a wonderfully vibrant variety of plants at Vallarta Botanical Gardens, an environmentally minded site set on 8 ha (20 ac) of native forest and perfectly manicured landscape. Hike the extensive trails through the flora, and keep one eye on the canopy looking out for exotic birds, especially at the beginning or end of the day. It's worth bringing some bug spray and considering wearing long trousers and sleeves to protect against biting insects. Be sure to bring some swimwear and a towel so you can cool off with a dip in the Rio Horcones. One of the best excursions ever in Puerto Vallarta! My husband and I booked a private tour with Rubi, our tour guide, and Luis our driver. If you would like the opportunity to learn a lot about Mexican history, its plants and fruits, definitely have Rubi be your guide. I never thought I would learn so much about how Mexico came to be from its many influences during colonialism from its food to festivities and culture. We got to try edible begonia flowers, fresh fruit from what their trees/bushes, tree nuts, fresh spices, and a wonderful delicious lunch of very authentic, traditional Mexican cuisine. At the end, got to cool down in the river. Definitely recommend coming here.
One of the most amazing experiences we have had! Beautiful and the pictures do not do it justice! One of my favorite things, ever. In life. Check it out!! You will not be disappointed!
