The tiered falls of Agua Azul Waterfalls feature vibrant blue water caused by high mineral content that encapsulates debris that falls in its path--trees, rocks--in limestone over time, creating rounded sandy-colored ledges. Be sure you bring your camera to capture the falls, (which mean "Blue-water falls" in Spanish) and bring your swimming gear if you'd like to take a dip. There are many stalls and vendors selling souvenirs and food here. Agua Azul Waterfalls is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , custom trip planner Edition.

  • Breathtaking falls/cascades. Lots of vendors selling all kinds of products but they aren't overpowering. Spent a pleasant 3 hours as a stopover. Good Mexican food. You'll pay twice, once for the reserve and once to see the falls. It's a small price which helps the community in keeping it clean and attractive.
  • The waterfalls itself is beautiful! But when we went it wasn't blue as the name mentions they were brown I understand this was caused by the rain, but it was a bit of a let down. It also would have been nice if there was more places to swim. Other than that it was a nice experience.
