One of the largest mosques in the world, Hassan II Mosque is an impressive place of worship and a symbolic landmark of the city. Nearly 1,000 construction workers and 10,000 artists took nearly seven years to complete this structure, known for its highly decorated interior (viewable only as part of a guided tour), rich in Islamic artistic motifs, including geometric shapes and sections from the Quran. The 210 m (689 ft) tall minaret stands above the old town, while the main building looks out across the Atlantic Ocean. Of great grandeur, beauty and simplicity. Well worth the €14 of the guided tour.
Très belle mosquée en bord de mer. Malheureusement nous ne sommes pas venu à la bonne heure pour les visites. more »Beautiful mosque by the sea. Unfortunately we didn't come at the right time for the tours.
It is a spectacular monument in Morocco, although I'm not a Muslim. If you're in Casablanca it's a must see attraction. Although if you're a non Muslim you can't enter the building. The building is located next to the beach, so in the warm months it will be a relaxing walk.
A large and impressive building. Open in the morning for tours in various languages. Considering you have to pay for a tour I think they could employ more than one English tour guide, as we ended up a group of over 50 and so it was a little different difficult to hear all of the explanation. That said it was still worth a visit as one of the few tourist attractions in Casablanca.
