Walk through the atmospheric streets of Chellah, the ruins of a medieval Muslim necropolis and part of metropolitan Rabat's World Heritage Site. Fortifications surround much of the complex, built by the Marinids in the 13th century CE and including a mosque, royal tombs, and minaret. Ruins from previous constructions lie throughout the site, dating back as far as the Phoenicians. The minaret still stands, along with the sturdy defensive wall, though much of the site lies recumbent, overgrown by plants and fruit trees, and used as a nesting ground by storks. • It’s an amazing quiet place. If you visit Rabat, you should walk around. You can meet storks. More than 3000 years of story. I love it.
  • It's an amazing, beautiful, peaceful Landscaped gardens on the site of an ancient citadel featuring Roman ruins & royal tombstones. Highly rated
