Trip Planner: South Pacific / New Zealand / North Island / Bay of Plenty Region / Rotorua District / Rotorua / Te Puia
Take a guided tour of the thermal geysers at Te Puia, Rotorua's undisputed star attraction. A short ride south of the city center, this thermal reserve features over 500 hot springs. The most famous of the many geysers is the aptly named Big Splash, erupting at least two dozen times a day and spouting water as high as 30 m (98 ft) into the air. Other highlights include regular cultural performances and popular hangi feasts, allowing visitors to experience the local cuisine. Don't miss the carving and weaving schools, where you can learn about the traditional methods of Maori artisans. Had a great day exploring the grounds of Te Puia with our young family. The geysers and the kiwis were awesome to see and it was easy to get around with our pram

The dancing and singing was very amazing you get really into it. I like that it’s a walking tour and seeing the geyser so close. I finally got to see a kiwi bird there. Watching them make the art was just awesome to see. So much hard work. The dinner was fantastic I don’t think I’ve eaten so much in one time so quickly. I highly recommend.
Amazing place with so many things to see and do. Went on the steambox lunch tour and was great. Enjoyed making flax flowers and eating the lunch fresh from the steam. The crafts are all so interesting and the skill the artists all have is phenomenal. Would highly recommend visiting for anyone in Rotorua. I'm surprised we didn't visit on one of our previous visits.
