Located less than an hour's drive north of San Francisco, Santa Rosa serves as a convenient hub for travelers on their way to the world-famous Napa Valley wine country.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate & Gardens and Bella Vineyards & Wine Caves. Get some historical perspective at Railroad Square Historic District and Luther Burbank Home and Gardens. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Santa Rosa: Armstrong Redwood State Reserve (in Guerneville), Healdsburg (Truett Hurst, Stephen & Walker Winery, & more) and BobDog Wines (in Cloverdale). Dedicate the 31st (Wed) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. It doesn't end there: admire the majestic nature at Sonoma Coast State Beach and do a tasting at Gracianna Winery.

For ratings, where to stay, and tourist information, go to the Santa Rosa travel itinerary planner.

Denver to Santa Rosa is an approximately 7.5-hour combination of train, flight, and bus. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and taxi. The time zone difference moving from Mountain Standard Time (MST) to Pacific Standard Time (PST) is minus 1 hour. When traveling from Denver in May, plan for a bit warmer days and about the same nights in Santa Rosa: temperatures range from 75°F by day to 47°F at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 4th (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
