A collection of crown jewels makes Armoury Chamber one of Moscow's most popular tourist attractions. Part of the city's centrally located World Heritage Site, this museum houses 15,000 royal dresses, including those worn by the Empress Elizabeth during her coronation ceremonies. Other highlights include a pair of Peter the Great's boots, numerous royal carriages and sledges, and a lavish throne studded with over 800 diamonds. Be sure to visit the upstairs galleries, which contain a vast collection of silver artworks produced between the 12th and 17th centuries, as well as 10 world-famous Easter eggs made by celebrated jeweler Faberge. Ease your journey through Russian art history with an audio guide, available at the on-site ticket office. For travelers who use our world travel planner, Moscow holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Armoury Chamber and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • The collection of artefacts is impressive from the gowns, carriages, firearms and armour, to gold and silverware. It is a vast collection which covers multiple centuries and different rulers. The desi...  more »
  • The armoury with the attached treasury of the tsars shows a beautiful cross-section of life at the Tsar's Court from the beginning to the modern era. It is recommended to operate a service for the ticket order, otherwise you will be in a long queue to buy tickets on site. The already tolerable snake in front of the entrance cannot be avoided.

  • Amazing place! I absolutely recommend it! It's well worth the price, aside from the first two halls which were a bit repetitive (religious stuff and daily life utilities) the place is awesome and very rich in history, you could probably spend hours here and not notice. The only Downside are the tourist groups just blocking the expositions not caring about the others, but that's just normal, I guess
  • I loved it! Great place to visit! So much to see. The museum isn't very big, but packed with artifacts: belonging to the Romanov dynasty, armour, gifts to tsars from foreign countries, dishes, jewelry, clothes ... Very interesting. Big advise try to have a tour guide, this makes it much more interesting!!
