Hike up to Lion's Head, a dramatic peak overlooking the city and offering panoramic views of Table Mountain National Park. The 669 m (2,195 ft) tall mountain lies next to the smaller, flat-topped Signal Hill, also known as Lion's Rump. You can reach the top on foot only on a relatively easy, scenic trek from Signal Hill. Although steep, the hike, suitable for children, doesn't present a challenge and will reward you with a picturesque picnic spot and viewpoint. I have great physical preparation, but at the end of the adventure I was already very tired. We climbed up on the summit of the mountain. If you don't want to venture so long, you can go to a part. The view is amazing!!!
A great mountain to hike. There is an easier path and longer route to the top, if you do not want to attempt the section which includes handheld hooks. There are several paths to Signal Hill from the start of the lions head hike as well.
Absolutely amazing! We hiked up and down and got some incredible views and photo ops on the way. The hike itself is not hard, even if you’re not the fittest person like me. Up at the top there wasn’t too many people (sunset time). Make sure you bring water as there is nowhere to freshen up and on a hot day you will need to. Will definitely do this again.
