Berlin Falls, Graskop

#11 of 16 in Nature in Mpumalanga
Waterfall · Hidden Gem · Nature / Park
Water drops from a height of 80 m (260 ft) into a round basin surrounded by red-rock cliffs at Berlin Falls. View the deep, dark-green hole from an observation platform with safety railings and protection. The falls are known for the shapes the water creates--observe the candle shape with the first short cascade representing a wick, and the rest creating the candle's body. The falls were named by German settlers who were feeling nostalgic for their home. Be prepared by wearing walking shoes here. • Very short walk from the parking area to this nice view on the Berlin Falls, good and picturesque addition to the other stops aroud Blyde River Canyon  more »
  • Excellent views from the viewpoints strung out across from the falls. An entrance fee of R 17:00 per person is charged.  more »
  • Beautiful scenery that is easily accessible to anybody. Was there after hours so facilities were closed at that time. Still worth the visit.
  • Not as good as Lisbon Falls, but very close to it so should make a visit to it. Viewing platform is good for a picture or two. Not much else there. Still need to pay an entry to go in.
