I circled the Island with the Kite and was thrilled. Petit Tabac is beautiful and truly embodies the lonely Pirate island in the Caribbean.
Words cannot describe the beauty of this place. Nice that they have recognized that it needs to be protected. more »
Absolutely beautiful island. Well worth the visit for the stunning scenery. The anchorage is small and narrow, accommodating only 4-6 yachts. It's a bit too far to dinghy from the Tobago Cays anchorage. Be careful entering because there are rocks on either side. We snorkeled on the north side of the anchorage, it was ok but nothing special. We also tried to walk around the entire island. Not recommended as the back side is rough and rocky. The views of the East side are quite nice, I wouldn't venture past there.
Petit tobacco is a coral island in the Tobagos keys aux Grandines. It is an island of paradise, white sand, coconut palms, kite surfing, catamarans. The island is also known to have been the place to shoot a scene of Pirates of the Caribbean. The island is populated by Bernard Hermite. On the ground you can pick up dry coconut. To visit I recommend you to make the trip from Union with Captain Harris and his boat Ocean panic. Opposite you have the other three islands of the Tobagos. To access it you have to find the pass because the island is surrounded by reefs afleurants, the Cayes.
