Vermont Nature Trail, St. Vincent

4.7
#2 of 6 in Nature in St. Vincent
Hike the trails through the dense rainforest of Vermont Nature Trail, culminating in a viewing platform where with luck you'll observe St. Vincent parrots in their natural habitat. You'll find the well-maintained trail easy to navigate, but consider hiring a guide to point out significant animal and plant life to you. Parts of the steep trail involve stairs, so assert caution if you struggle with mobility. Be sure to bring your binoculars to pick out the wildlife, and get there early to get the best views of the bird life. • A bit to get there on your own, but worth it if you have a car. The walk starts off gentle then there are a few steep bits. But there is a point when you stop noticing how long you have been walking o...  more »
  • In January 2019, we owed it to a Coincidence we got to Chris. We had Booked in Advance from another Provider, which could not transport us ourselves, as was probably a certain Capacity Problem. So we slipped in with Chris, and had a Full-day Trip at the finest. The Way to the Trail alone, in a super comfortable Van, with Stop at Fort Charlotte, was very interesting and highly informative. Again and again Chris stopped and got out to either get fresh Fruit, or show us something or explain it to us. Since he speaks a very understandable English, it worked out brilliantly with understanding, and we talked about God and the World. Once on The Nature Trail, it poured as if it were from Buckets, but 500 Meters further to our Right. No Cloud above us, but Rain. But This is only a brief. Then was Start and Chris went ahead. Again and Again it was stopped and Chris explained very understandably the flora and Fauna, which was really very nice, because so much information, even about the smallest Fern, you do not get offered at any Aida or MeinSchiff excursion, which we were allowed to experience live, as a Aida force, about 60 People, approached Us. First Of all, a Local Guide, then 15 Minutes of Duck March, until the last one was past us. Finally, an Aida Guide. It was Talked about everything except Rainforest. That's where you really hit it better with Chris. With a really fantastic Knowledge of his Island, and his extremely nice Manner, he made the Outing a real Experience. The Climate in The Rainforest was, contrary to Expectations, very pleasant. They were already sweated on the Climb, but you had the Impression of a light Cool Breeze. This was only noticeable when you came to an Area where the Sun shone through. Best was this Silence, punctuated only occasionally by the Cries of Parrots, or other Birds. At the Starting point back was Tasting of various Fruits. On the Way Back to the Beach, Chris drove us through his Home Village, and here, too, gave this and the best. We were able to determine The Final Visit to the Beach in terms of scope and Length. Chris kept discreetly in the Background, paying attention to our Stuff while Bathing. In Conclusion, Chris is a perfect Guide and a very cool Guy. It was an absolutely Fantastic Day on ST. Vincent. Anyone who has hesitated so far should hit the Keys now at the latest, and book a Tour with Chris From Vincy Dove Tours.
