Walled City
Founded by the Spanish in 1521, San Juan is the oldest city under U.S.Paseo de la Princesa and Sitio Histórico de San Juan are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Santa Maria Magdalena de Pazzis Cemetery and Luquillo Beach. Change things up with a short trip to El Yunque Rain Forest in El Yunque National Forest (about 1h 10 min away). It doesn't end there: contemplate the long history of Old San Juan and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Catedral Metropolitana Basilica de San Juan Bautista.

Isla Nena

Little Island
With much of Culebra a nature refuge, the tropical island has been protected from overdevelopment, chain hotels, and the cruise set.Start off your visit on the 15th (Fri): visit a coastal fixture at Culebrita Lighthouse and then enjoy the sand and surf at Flamenco Beach. On the 16th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: kick back and relax at Playa Punta Soldado Beach, stroll through Zoni Beach, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Brava Beach.
