Your day-by-day itinerary now includes Arecibo Lighthouse & Historical Park as well as La Cueva del Indio. Start off your visit on the 11th (Tue): explore the fascinating underground world of La Cueva del Indio, enjoy the sand and surf at La Poza Beach, and then visit a coastal fixture at Arecibo Lighthouse & Historical Park. For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
Your day-by-day itinerary now includes Vieques National Wildlife Refuge. Kick off your visit on the 16th (Sun): kick back and relax at Caracas Beach, then identify plant and animal life at Vieques National Wildlife Refuge, and then kick back and relax at Blue Beach. On your second day here, get engrossed in the history at Fortin Conde de Mirasol Museum, get a taste of the local shopping with Gallery Galleon, and then contemplate the waterfront views at Sun Bay.
