Overlooking a scenic bay, the Mediterranean port city of Algiers enthralls visitors with its imposing skyline, a blend of French colonial buildings, run-down high-rises, and whitewashed Islamic architecture nestled on the hillside.
Get some cultural insight at Basilique Notre Dame d'Afrique and Ruines Romaines Tipaza. You'll get in some beach time at La Playa and Ushuaia Beach Club. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Algiers: Musee Public National de Cherchell (in Cherchell), Chrea National Park (in El Hamdania) and Blida (Ancienne Synagogue de Blida, Mausolee de Sidi Elkebir, &more). There's much more to do: wander the streets of Kasbah of Algiers, see the interesting displays at Musee Public National de l'Enluminure, de la Miniature et de la Calligraphie, take in the spiritual surroundings of Monastere de Tibhirine, and contemplate the long history of Tombeau de la Chretienne.

If you are flying in from Sweden, the closest major aiport is Houari Boumediene Airport. In June, plan for daily highs up to 34°C, and evening lows to 19°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 14th (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
