Do some cultural sightseeing at Old San Juan and Sitio Histórico de San Juan. For shopping fun, head to Plaza Las Americas or Ole Puerto Rico. Explore San Juan's surroundings by going to El Yunque Rain Forest (in El Yunque National Forest), Caribbean Trading Company Store (in Palmer) and Luquillo Beach (in Luquillo). There's lots more to do: stop by Puerto Rican Art & Crafts, get a sense of history and politics at The Capitol of Puerto Rico, and pause for some serene contemplation at Catedral Metropolitana Basilica de San Juan Bautista.

For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
We've included these beaches for you: Sun Bay Beach and La Chiva. Step out of the city life by going to Media Luna Beach and Navio Beach. Next up on the itinerary: stroll through Vieques National Wildlife Refuge, take in the waterfront at Malecon, take an in-depth tour of Fortin Conde de Mirasol Museum, and enjoy the sand and surf at Caracas Beach.

You can fly from San Juan to Isla de Vieques in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of shuttle and ferry. In June, daily temperatures in Isla de Vieques can reach 87°F, while at night they dip to 78°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 4th (Tue) to allow enough time to travel to Culebra.

With much of Culebra a nature refuge, the tropical island has been protected from overdevelopment, chain hotels, and the cruise set.
Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Flamenco Beach and Playa Punta Soldado Beach. Get in touch with nature at Zoni Beach and Culebrita Island. Next up on the itinerary: kick back and relax at Tamarindo Beach and stroll through Carlos Rosario Beach.

Ponce is both a city and a municipality in the southern part of Puerto Rico. Kick off your visit on the 7th (Fri): take an in-depth tour of Museo de Arte de Ponce, see the interesting displays at Parque de Bombas, then pause for some photo ops at El Museo Castillo Serralles, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Cathedral of our Lady of Guadaloupe. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: explore and take pictures at La Guancha.
