Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
Head to Pola Museum of Art and Asakusafor some retail therapy. Visit Senso-ji Temple and Imperial Palace for their historical value. Explore Tokyo's surroundings by going to Hakone Shisseikaen (in Hakone-machi), Mt. Takao (in Hachioji) and Showa Kinen Park (in Tachikawa). There's still lots to do: admire the masterpieces at Tokyo National Museum, wander the streets of Odaiba, visit Ginza, and get outside with Odaiba Kaihin Koen (Odaiba Seaside Park).

Singapore, Singapore to Tokyo is an approximately 10- hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of flight, taxi, and train. The time zone difference moving from Singapore Standard Time (SGT) to Japan Standard Time (JST) is 1 hour. Traveling from Singapore in March, expect Tokyo to be cooler, temps between 17°C and 7°C. On the 2nd (Mon), you'll have the morning to explore before heading off to Kyoto.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Get some historical perspective at Nijo Castle and Hieizan Enryaku-ji Temple. Do some cultural sightseeing at Gion and Kyoto International Manga Museum. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Kyoto: Makino Sunny Beach (in Takashima), Miho Museum (in Koka) and Mitsui Outlet Park Shiga Ryuo (in Ryuo-cho). The adventure continues: browse the different shops at Kyoto Station Building and admire the masterpieces at Kyoto National Museum.

You can take a train from Tokyo to Kyoto in 2.5 hours. Other options are to do a combination of flight and bus; or drive. In April, daytime highs in Kyoto are 22°C, while nighttime lows are 11°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 4th (Wed) to allow time to take a train to Osaka.

You'll explore and learn at Cup Noodle Museum Osaka Ikeda and Kids Plaza Osaka. Head to Dotombori and Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Streetfor plenty of shopping. Explore Osaka's surroundings by going to Ashiya Comprehensive Park Ashiya Beach (in Ashiya), Arima Onsen (in Kobe) and Nara (Nara National Museum, Todaiji Temple Cultural Center, &more). Osaka is very close to Kyoto. In April in Osaka, expect temperatures between 23°C during the day and 12°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 7th (Sat) to allow time to travel to Ishigaki.

Ishigaki, the most populous island in the chain, features the country's southernmost city and acts as a transport hub for exploring the landmasses that surround.
Start off your visit on the 8th (Sun): add some adventure to your tour with a kayaking and canoeing tour.

Traveling by flight from Osaka to Ishigaki takes 5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and flight; or do a combination of train and flight. Expect somewhat warmer temperatures when traveling from Osaka in April; daily highs in Ishigaki reach 30°C and lows reach 24°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 9th (Mon) so you can travel to Miyakojima.

A city jurisdiction formed after the merger of several towns in 2005, Miyakojima spans six linked-up islands.
