One of the largest resort towns in the Caribbean, Varadero boasts a 20 km (12 mi) long stretch of sand, lined with hotels and all-inclusive resorts.
Get some historical perspective at Ambrosio Cave and Iglesia Santa Elvira. Step off the beaten path and head to Bellamar Caves and Shark Diving. There's lots more to do: stroll through Varahicacos Ecological Reserve, enjoy the sand and surf at Cayo Blanco, look for gifts at Plaza Las Morlas, and tee off at Varadero Golf Club.

Valletta, Malta to Varadero is an approximately 19-hour combination of bus and flight. The time zone difference when traveling from Valletta to Varadero is minus 6 hours. Traveling from Valletta in March, expect Varadero to be somewhat warmer, temps between 32°C and 19°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 25th (Sun) early enough to drive to Cienfuegos.
