The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Kyoto is known for historic sites, shopping, and classes. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: take in the spiritual surroundings of Kiyomizu-dera Temple, wander the streets of Gion, go for a walk through Philosopher's Walk, and explore the historical opulence of Nijo Castle.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Kyoto is an approximately 9-hour flight. You can also do a combination of car and ferry. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Kyoto. Expect much colder temperatures when traveling from Kuala Lumpur in November; daily highs in Kyoto reach 19°C and lows reach 10°C. You'll have a few hours on the 19th (Sat) to wrap things up before traveling to Osaka.

Osaka

Proud of their hometown's distinct culture and dialect, many natives of Osaka describe their city as "Japan's anti-capital." An antidote to Tokyo's hectic energy, Osaka marches to the beat of its own drum, serving as the country's longtime commercial and industrial hub.
Get out of town with these interesting Osaka side-trips: Nara (Kofuku-ji Temple, Nara Park, &more) and Koya-cho (Mt. Koya & Koyasan Okunoin). Fukuoka

The largest city on the island, Fukuoka formed through the merger of two former cities that had grown up either side of the Naka River.
