Get some cultural insight at Castillo de San Pedro de la Roca and Cementerio Santa Ifigenia. Your inner history buff will appreciate El Cobre Basilica and Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption. Take a break from Santiago de Cuba with a short trip to Basilica de la Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre in El Cobre, about 38 minutes away. Built on sugar and seemingly preserved in molasses, the town of Trinidad attracts visitors with its well-aged 19th century architecture and rustic charm, showcasing the sounds, scents, and sights of days gone by.
Get some historical perspective at Iglesia de San Juan Batista and Ruinas de Ingenio San Isidro de los Destiladeros. Appreciate the collections at Museo de Agroindustria Azucarera and Galerie D'Art Calleyro. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Trinidad: Cienfuegos (Palacio de Valle & Ferrer Palace). There's still lots to do: identify plant and animal life at Topes de Collantes, make a trip to Trinidad de Cuba, take in the exciting artwork at Lazaro Niebla Gallery, and kick back and relax at Ancon Beach.

You can drive from Camaguey to Trinidad in 4 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. In February, daily temperatures in Trinidad can reach 34°C, while at night they dip to 21°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 12th (Wed) to allow enough time to drive to Varadero.

One of the largest resort towns in the Caribbean, Varadero boasts a 20 km (12 mi) long stretch of sand, lined with hotels and all-inclusive resorts.
Mi Casa Beatles and Pharmaceutical Museum will appeal to museum buffs. Visit Varadero Beach and Coral Beach - Playa Coral for some beach relaxation. Change things up with a short trip to Cuevas de Bellamar in Matanzas (about 50 minutes away). There's lots more to do: play a few rounds at Varadero Golf Club, contemplate the long history of Cueva de Ambrosio, observe the fascinating underwater world at Delfinario, and kick back and relax at Cayos Blancos.
