Bring the kids along to Old San Juan and Sitio Histórico de San Juan. Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Luquillo Beach and Condado Beach. Get out of town with these interesting San Juan side-trips: Fajardo (Scuba & Snorkeling, Fishing Charters & Tours, &more), Carolina Children's Museum (in Carolina) and El Yunque Rain Forest (in El Yunque National Forest). With much of Culebra a nature refuge, the tropical island has been protected from overdevelopment, chain hotels, and the cruise set.
Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Flamenco Beach and Melones Beach. Attractions like Zoni Beach and Museo Historico de Culebra make great kid-friendly stops. There's still lots to do: step off the mainland to explore Culebrita Island, enjoy the sea views from Culebrita Lighthouse, tour the pleasant surroundings at Playa Punta Soldado Beach, and kick back and relax at Culebra National Wildlife.

For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
Bring the kids along to Sun Bay Beach and Scuba & Snorkeling. Fortin Conde de Mirasol Museum and Siddhia Hutchinson Fine Art Gallery are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Next up on the itinerary: kick back and relax at Media Luna Beach, tour the pleasant surroundings at Vieques National Wildlife Refuge, trot along with a tour on horseback, and head off the coast to Vieques Island.

You can do a combination of flight and car from Culebra to Isla de Vieques in 4 hours. Another option is to ride a ferry. In July, plan for daily highs up to 36°C, and evening lows to 30°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 20th (Sat) early enough to travel to Rincon.

Rincon

A seaside playground in the Caribbean, Rincon was a small agricultural and fishing town until it hosted the 1968 World Surfing Championship.
Visit Playa Sucia and Crashboat Beach for some beach relaxation. Heaven's Gate Convent (Porta Coeli) and Museum of the History of San German will appeal to museum buffs. Get out of town with these interesting Rincon side-trips: Casa Dona Bisa and Museo Historia San Sebastian (in San Sebastian), Parque Nacional de las Cavernas del Rio Camuy (in Camuy) and Horseback Riding Tours (in Utuado). There's lots more to do: kick back and relax at Jobos Beach, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Parroquia San Jose De La Montana, tour the pleasant surroundings at Balneario de Boqueron, and discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour.

Ponce is both a city and a municipality in the southern part of Puerto Rico. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Museo de Arte de Ponce and Casa Museo Federico Degetau. Attractions like Parque de Bombas and Cueva del Indio make great kid-friendly stops.
