Carmel-by-the-Sea, often simply called Carmel, is a city in Monterey County, California, United States, founded in 1902 and incorporated on October 31, 1916. Visit San Carlos Borromeo de Carmelo Mission and Carmel Mission for their historical value. We've included these beaches for you: Carmel River State Beach and Point Lobos State Reserve. Next up on the itinerary: admire the majestic nature at Garrapata State Park, hike along Scenic Road Walkway, and enjoy the sand and surf at Carmel City Beach/Carmel River Beach.
