Little Island

With much of Culebra a nature refuge, the tropical island has been protected from overdevelopment, chain hotels, and the cruise set.
Step out of the city life by going to Flamenco Beach and Zoni Beach. You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Tamarindo Beach and Carlos Rosario Beach. There's more to do: stroll through Playa Punta Soldado Beach and get lost in a book at Culebra Public Library.

For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
Start off your visit on the 6th (Thu): tour the pleasant surroundings at Vieques National Wildlife Refuge and then tour the pleasant surroundings at La Chiva. Here are some ideas for day two: explore the activities along Sun Bay Beach.
