Set back from the busy coast, Palmer has a charming, hidden-away atmosphere.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Palmer: San Juan (Old San Juan, Cathedral of San Juan Bautista, & more). Make the 2nd (Sun) an awe-inspiring day at The El Yunque Rain Forest. Spend the 3rd (Mon) among aquatic life with a scuba or snorkeling tour.

With much of Culebra a nature refuge, the tropical island has been protected from overdevelopment, chain hotels, and the cruise set.
On the 5th (Wed), tour the pleasant surroundings at Playa Punta Soldado Beach and then enjoy the sand and surf at Flamenco Beach. On the next day, step off the mainland to explore Culebrita Island, then stroll through Zoni Beach, and then look for gifts at Zinkowski Art Studio.

Traveling by combination of taxi and flight from Palmer to Culebra takes an hour. Alternatively, you can do a combination of taxi and ferry.
