Founded when gold was discovered in the area in the late 19th century, Johannesburg quickly grew into a bustling metropolis, South Africa's largest city and the region's economic hub.
Kick off your visit on the 3rd (Wed): see the interesting displays at SAB World of Beer, contemplate the long history of Constitution Hill Human Rights Precinct, and then make a trip to Nelson Mandela Square. On the 4th (Thu), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: see exotic creatures in open habitats at a safari tour.
