The Point San Luis Lighthouse, also known as the San Luis Obispo Light Station, is on the National Register of Historic Places. Located near Avila Beach on the Central Coast of California, it is the only Prairie Victorian model lighthouse left on the West Coast of the United States. It is being refurbished by the Point San Luis Lighthouse Keepers, a volunteer group.

    These beautifully restored buildings represent an important part of California maritime history. The views are stunning. We had knowledgeable tour guides and a comfy bus ride up the steep hill.

    A beautiful lighthouse to visit and enjoy especially if you like to experience the tours and hear the history of light houses. They will have you park at a pre-disclosed location and a tour bus will drive you through the winding road to the secluded location where this lighthouse is. Definitely a fun tour and beautiful view all the way around
