In the middle of the desert you expect no falls, but they are there though. This provides Panamint Springs of water. You must first via a dirt road to a parking lot and then a piece by a dry river bed walk up. It is getting greener and adventurous. Eventually you come through a climbing party at the low Darwin Falls.Je hear the high, but you don't see them. An experienced mountain climber, she can probably approach. Fascinating to experience

My daughter and I visited on June 2nd, making it to Darwin Falls around Noon. This was our favorite hike of the day. It is not a highly visited trail. And I think that is for the best. Thankfully I ha...  more »

This is a hidden gem. There were less people on this walk than others we did in Death Valley, but we thought this was one of the best. A gem of an oasis - water fall at the end.  more »

Where to stay in Death Valley National Park

Death Valley National Park provides numerous developed campgrounds where you can pitch a tent. Some of these are free, and some are open year-round, while others only offer camping in the cooler, non-summer months. There are a few privately owned and operated lodges and inns in the park, most of which feature rustic accommodations. With its upscale lodging, the Furnace Creek Inn stands as an exception. The town of Beatty, on the Nevada side of the park, offers a few basic inns and motels and a couple of casinos. On the California side, Randsburg sits farther away from the park's popular Furnace Creek area, but the town offers numerous economy motels and views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
