We really wanted to tour the facility. We arrived at 10:50 and were turned away at the door, stating they don’t open until noon. We had to replan our entire day.

I love this place. It was 1st coming here. I didn't even know it was here and I've lived in Oxnard all my life. Only got there with 45 min to spare since they close @4pm. It is an amazing place. The gentleman who works there is very knowledgeable and plight and extremely pleasant to talk with. $7 entrance fee every 3rd Thursday free. Free parking. Totally with it. Will be going back when i am able to go earlier to have more time to really take in all the amazing details and history. I family must go.
This place is great! The guides are so knowledgeable and their excitement is infectious! If you have any interest in boats, models, and/or history you could do much worse than this lovely museum!
