  • A bit pricey, but well worth it. Fantastic biosphere (we had a butterfly land on one of our party), entertaining and educational planetarium (which was a fantastic show about coral reefs when we were there). The aquarium is pretty cool - some very large fish here! There is a good variety of healthy food available for purchase. We didn't get in to the 3D planet show unfortunately - there were too many people ahead of us in the line. Perhaps show these more often? We spent an afternoon here and still feel like there was heaps more to see that we didn't get to. My boys, aged 13 and 11 had a great time. Highly recommended.
  • I really loved this place! My family is not from California and I loved all of the education they had about earthquakes including a "real life" experience, a movie in the theatre, and kids activities that my 5 year old son and my 11 year old brother loved. Their exhibits were well staffed and there was always someone available to provide education. They even had an area outside area where kids could just run around. Had a great time, I only wish that educational places like this were more accessible for every family. It was more than $100 for one adult and 2 children. The food was pricey too even for the simple cheese pizza.
  • We liked visiting Cal Academy. Previous visits we wished there was more for our 2.5 year old to do. This time we found The Curiosity Grove. Great little place for the smaller kiddos to hang out and play!
  • I would say that this is one of the best science museums of all time. I remember back in the days schools would take entire grades to visit this spectacular museums. There are so many different sections and specimens do this large museum, that it'll take at least 6 hours to explore everything. 6/5 you should definitely visit this place. It also has a beautiful park next to the museum which is great for a stroll.
  • This is a great place to learn interesting facts about the natural world. This is predominantly a natural science and history museum. The aquarium and rainforest are amazing and are a must see for all ages. The price may seem high when purchasing the tickets, but the awe and wonder of this place will make have you forget the expense by the time you are done (or when you see the penguins). Great place to be. Love it.
