Sort of in-between Sequoia and Kings, this little privately run village is rather quaint, and they sell gasoline (something you will not find inside park boundaries. What you will find here are cheap ...  more »

The room was clean and for such a remote location had everything one can get at any nice motel. The Lodge is located by the river, so you can hear the roaring water at night when is quiet. For me that was the calming sound of nature that helps me overcome the anxiety of the big city's noise. There is a camp and cabins on the grounds too and it could get very busy during the summer. The snack bar/ cafe serves limited options in the menu, but the food is good. There is also a small market for camping and food necessities.

We stayed in room 10. Nothing exciting. Best thing was it's location and the air conditioning. We hiked to the mist falls so the location was perfect. It was nice to return to a cold room after our long day hiking in 93° weather. The bathroom fan was really annoying and loud. It woke me up when someone went to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

Food in the restaurant is great. Location of the lodge is beautiful with a the kings river flowing right next to the lodge. Rooms were clean. Wifi in the lodge has limited access. (only google/fb). The general store sells individual bottles of Beer at store price which is great thing. Service at the place was really good. Staff was friendly.

Super close to the river, great to open the window and listen, market and cafe is right downstairs. No TV, but there is WiFi about 56k speed so you can't watch anything for more than 3 seconds.. river is too treacherous you can't boat, float or Wade in it :(

Great place. Recommend it for anyone who wants to live in a lodge at camping. Enjoyed it a lot.

Where to stay in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park

Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks provide plenty of lodging right inside their boundaries. Kings Canyon operates three lodges and a set of cabins, with two of the lodges and the cabins remaining open throughout the year. Of these, the John Muir Lodge sits closest to the entrance. The parks also offer more than a dozen campgrounds about equally distributed between them, with most operating on a first-come, first-served basis. Campsites fill up quickly on Friday nights in summer, but you should be able to find a place for your tent any other time during the week. Your accommodation options expand if you look along Sierra Road to the west of the parks. Motels, nature resorts, inns, bed and breakfasts, and lodges line the road, which runs alongside the North Fork Kaweah River.
