  • Nelson Family Vineyards is the hidden crown jewel of Ukiah! My wife and I were just married there, and from the first view of the vines from the highway, taste of orange muscat, and glimpse of their soaring redwoods, we knew this was where we would invite all of our friends and family and forever place in our hearts. Everything about it is right and well done--family-owned, rustic, beautiful; the farming staff lives on site and works shoulder to shoulder with the Nelsons to create beautiful wines and stunning views. They have Christmas trees, bees, donkeys, cows, horses, truffles, and I'm sure more, and we and our guests couldn't have been happier with the wine and wedding experience. My only sadness in posting this is that somehow in helping others discover Nelson Family Vineyards it might cheapen the experience for those of us who know it best--this is a true gem, and a worthy destination regardless of the distance traveled, whether it be the Bay Area, San Diego (where we came up from), or beyond. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we!
  • Leda and I went with some friends to Nelson for our first wine tasting adventure ever and it was amazing! Very comfortable environment, friendly staff and nice outdoor seating to relax and talk with other guests. Great history and amazing wine! The landscape was breath taking even in the winter with no leaves on the vines. We will be back for the Barn Blend competition for sure!!
