Farm Sanctuary was founded in 1986 to combat the abuses of factory farming and encourage a new awareness and understanding about farm animals. Today, Farm Sanctuary is the nation’s largest and most effective farm animal rescue and protection organization. We have rescued thousands of animals and cared for them at our sanctuaries in Watkins Glen, New York; Northern California (Orland); and the Los Angeles area. At Farm Sanctuary, these animals are our friends, not our food. We educate millions of people about their plight and the effects of factory farming on our health and environment. We advocate for laws and policies to prevent suffering and promote compassion, and we reach out to legislators and businesses to bring about institutional reforms.Using our world travel planner, Watkins Glen attractions like Sanctuary Farm can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.
Farm Sanctuary is committed to ending cruelty to farm animals and promoting compassionate vegan living through rescue, education, and advocacy efforts. Please join us. A compassionate world begins with you!

I love this place!! Everything they stand for makes me so happy that this place actually exists! Thank you so much to all the people that work here to make these animals lives a priority and to begin the healing process for them to actually be able to get a second chance. There is a great gift shop to help support there cause that has some great gifts inside! If you are in the area, this place is definitely worth a visit!
It's a wonderful place, but I've been there a few times and what I noticed more is in the talk prior to the tour. It needs to be revised for your audience, I believe most of the visitors are either vegan or vegetarian and it's more like preaching to the choir. If you adjust it more towards first asking on the number of vegan/vegetarian s are in the audience, you would be able to adjust some of the language on how to talk about transition of their friends/family. It's still very educational for all. Keep up the great work.
