Sanctuary Farm, Watkins Glen
Farm Sanctuary was founded in 1986 to combat the abuses of factory farming and encourage a new awareness and understanding about farm animals. Today, Farm Sanctuary is the nation’s largest and most effective farm animal rescue and protection organization. We have rescued thousands of animals and cared for them at our sanctuaries in Watkins Glen, New York; Northern California (Orland); and the Los Angeles area. At Farm Sanctuary, these animals are our friends, not our food. We educate millions of people about their plight and the effects of factory farming on our health and environment. We advocate for laws and policies to prevent suffering and promote compassion, and we reach out to legislators and businesses to bring about institutional reforms.Using our world travel planner, Watkins Glen attractions like Sanctuary Farm can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.
Farm Sanctuary is committed to ending cruelty to farm animals and promoting compassionate vegan living through rescue, education, and advocacy efforts. Please join us. A compassionate world begins with you!
Sanctuary Farm Reviews

We stayed in the tiny houses and it was amazing. One of our best vacations ever. There are three tiny houses and three cabins. The tiny houses seem like better options because they are in front of the... more »
This is one of the most incredible places I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. Farm Sanctuary does amazing work through activism and lobbying across the country. It's such a satisfying experience visiting and learning about the different animals: all of their stories and their personalities really shine when they are in a place that treats them as the individuals they are, rather than the products most people treat them as.
Getting the chance to interact with these animals and witness their ability to recover from the trauma they've endured, the love they give to the caretakers, and their individual personalities is a wonderful experience. Stella the cow is the sweetest being you will ever meet.
