Perhaps one of the most famous and opulent opera houses in the world, Palais Garnier was the setting for the 1910 novel "The Phantom of the Opera,” by Gaston Leroux. When you approach the façade, look up and you'll see the 7.5-m (25-ft) Beaux Arts statue known as L’Harmonie. Today, the opera house primarily produces ballet productions, which you can attend with advance tickets. Admission to an on-site museum, the Bibliothèque-Musée de l'Opéra de Paris (Paris Opera Library-Museum), is included in unaccompanied tours of the opera house building. Be sure to admire the enormous bronze and crystal chandelier in the auditorium. You can dine in the L'Opéra Restaurant. This is an amazing building. It's a bit unassuming from the outside, although it does look quite nice. Inside, however, it's an example of opulence and craftsmanship. The details in some of the rooms are awe inspiring. It's definitely worth a visit even if you're not catching a show. The performance auditorium is also very plush, and seeing a performance would no doubt be an experience, but I would recommend a visit even just for the building itself.

What a lovely place. One can feel the history and the high society spirit first hand. The hall and all corridors are beautifully decorated. Truly an experience. We went there for the concert midi. Great value for money. I can only recommend.
