Post town between Kyoto and Tokyo . Convenient to get here from Matsumoto. And the town is right outside of the train station. There are many quaint shops with local food , artwork and souvenirs .

It's nice but doesn't have ambience. Maybe because we went on a Sunday. The architecture is beautiful. Nice for a car stop, but not to spend too much time.

Visiting Narai-Juku was an amazing experience with friendly people at every corner. The views are amazing and all the shops and inns are very welcoming. The little area has so many things to see from historical architecture, to shrines, temples, and hidden views. This is a great place to visit and take some time to slow down and appreciate.
