Help other deities lure the sun goddess out of her cave and bring light back to the world at Amano Yasugawara. Following a pleasant 15-minute hike through the forest along a stream, you'll stumble upon stacks of stones, which serve as wish towers made by devotees and visitors paying tribute to the sun goddess. You can’t enter the cave, but can instead admire it from an observation deck. The cave is believed to have many spiritual powers and attracts crowds of visitors year-round. It can be reached via Amano Iwato Shrine, some 10 km (6 mi) from Takachino. Not sure if the significance of the shrine and takachiho area can be understood without a guide but it's a very nice spot with lots of rock piles.

This is a nice shrine with a pretty walk along the way. Worth visiting if you are in the area.

A sacred place by the stream which is approx. 10 mins walk from Amanoiwato Shrine. Felt too sacred to step in, but worth the experience.
