Admire works from Mexican and international artists at Palacio de Bellas Artes. Construction on the domed palace begun in 1905, using art nouveau and neoclassical architectural styles, but was it delayed by sinking foundations and a political uprising. When the building was finally completed in the 1930s, a touch of art nouveau influence added to the melange of styles. Immerse yourself in Mexican fine culture at the impressive palace, which today houses several museums and galleries, as well as a theater. For travelers who use our online itinerary creator, Mexico City holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Palacio de Bellas Artes and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

This is a beautiful place and a must if you are in CDMX. On sunday the entrance is free but you can’t see the hole museum, however what I got to see it was very nice.

One of the most beautiful, breathtaking places in Mexico city, even for Mexican citizens. With a unique history of it's construction (to mark a century past independence from Spanish rule) its architecture is a confluence of Mexican, Spanish and French work. It has both Neovlassical and Deco (modern) art. It ha memoirs of Spanish heritage, Art and culture of Mexico. It has a performance theatre, open to all. If you're a student travelling with a international student ID, you can probably get into one of their finest theatres for real cheap. Built into the heart of the city, it is the most popular spot for CDMX.
