A big city with a small-town feel, Portland is home to the country's biggest rose test garden, perched on a hill overlooking downtown.
Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Haystack Rock and Cannon Beach. Escape the urban bustle at Portland Timbers and Columbia River Maritime Museum. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Portland: Ecola State Park (in Cannon Beach), Multnomah Falls (in Bridal Veil) and Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum (in McMinnville).
